Blessing Package (year 2009) - From $1,400 USD Religious Ceremony (Not Legal)
The Blessing is performed by an English speaking Minister. She reads parts from the Bible, she blesses your wedding rings and you exchange your vows. The blessing is a religious ceremony, not a legal ceremony.

General Information
Say "I do" to Iberostar Cozumel. Because of the natural beauty of its surroundings, it's the perfect place to pledge your love. The decor, the beach, the food, all make it the ideal place to get married. A wedding coordinator will take care of everything from the bride's bouquet and the groom's boutonniere, to the cake, and even reservations to an a la carte restaurant. Congratulations!

Documents
PASSPORTS Bride and Groom must have valid passports

TOURIST CARDS this is given to foreigners upon arrival to Mexico

BIRTH CERTIFICATES translated into Spanish by an official translator attached with an Apostille. An Apostille is a certification required by Mexican authorities in order to make your papers legal here in Mexico.

   • If you are American, please contact the Secretary of State where you were born. You should send your birth certificates to the Secretary of State and enclose a letter stating that you are getting married in Mexico and that you need an Apostille.    • If you are European, please contact the Foreign Affairs of your country.

   • If you are Canadian, please contact the nearest Mexican Embassy or Consulate in order to legalize your Birth Certificate and translation. For more information please contact: www.embamexcan.com/CONSULAR/FQGettingMarried.shtml

The Judge may keep birth certificates therefore, we recommend
you to bring certified copies, rather than originals.

DIVORCE CERTIFICATE translated into Spanish (if Bride or groom are divorced). “Apostille” is mandatory and needed.

WITNESSES You need four witnesses with passport and their Tourist Card for your wedding. They need to be here at the latest four working day's prior to the wedding. If you do not bring any witnesses, the hotel will provide them without any extra charge.

BLOOD TEST (to determine blood type, HIV, RH factor and Venereal deceases) This must be made at the Hotel and costs $220.00 US Dollars per couple payable directly the doctor upon his visit.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE BLESSING CEREMONY

The Blessing is performed by an English speaking Minister. He reads parts from the Bible, he blesses your wedding rings and you exchange your vows. The blessing is a religious ceremony, not a legal ceremony; it is not necessary to be married before you come to Mexico.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE CIVIL CEREMONY

The wedding couple and their witnesses must be in Mexico for at least 4 complete business days (Saturdays, Sundays & Public Mexican Holidays are not included) before the wedding, not counting the arrival date or the wedding date, to meet with the wedding coordinator and submit all the required documents and going over the wedding details.

The ceremony will not be performed unless all documents are in order
(No exceptions)
If you are interested on having your wedding on a weekend there is an extra charge for these days because the Judge does not work on Saturdays or Sundays. Weddings on Saturdays have an additional fee of $60 US Dollars and Weddings on Sundays have an additional fee of $150 US Dollars (to confirm with the Judge). Saturdays and Sundays are subject to availability with Judges.

The marriage is only legal in Mexico. After the wedding, you will receive your marriage license and an original copy. In o0rder to make this valid in your country, we will need to get the Apostille for your marriage license. We can do this for you for a processing fee of $50.00 US Dollars. You will receive the papers through the mail approximately 3 months after the wedding. The shipment of this document is with out charge.

Marriage License Original Copies – If you would like extra copies of your marriage license this can be provided for $10.00 US Dollars payable in cash, before the wedding day. This procedure takes approximately one month. As soon as we receive it we will mail it through courier mailing.


Don't forget to bring with you for the first meeting all the required paperwork:
Passports, Tourist Cards, Birth Certificates with the official Spanish translation and the Apostille, Divorce Certificate with the official Spanish translation and the Apostille.

Policies

Due to the high amount of weddings that we have we kindly ask you to request the wedding date as soon as possible. We have a policy of having only one wedding per day to ensure that it is your special day. If you would like to reserve a date, we require a written request with the couples complete names, the type of ceremony, and approximate number of guests. The Wedding will be charged the room account and will be settled during your stay, before the wedding day. The hotel accepts credit cards (Master Card, Visa & American Express), travelers checks and cash.
