General Information
Avalon Reef Club has a variety of locations to offer: 2 ocean front wedding gazebos, Mayan arch located off the right side of the lobby, On the beach (depending on the season)

For a Religious Ceremony - You may arrive to the Resort the day before. For a Civil Ceremony, Bride, Groom and witnesses must be in Cancun three (3) working days prior to the ceremony.

A Civil Ceremony in Mexico is performed by a Judge/Justice of the peace and is legally recognized in the United States. The Religious Ceremony is performed by a Minister, Pastor or Priest and is not recognized as a legal wedding in the United States.

Apostille: This particular word means that the original documents which needs to be presented to the Mexican Government Offices must have been sent to the Secretary of States Notary Public of the State from which the document originally is from for authentication (Apostille Seal).

We strongly suggest you mail copies and then bring the originals with you.

Documents
   • Valid passport (although passports are not required for US citizens to enter the country, they are mandatory for weddings)
   • Tourist card (provided by customs upon your arrival in Cancun)
   • Original or notarized Birth Certificate (translated into Spanish). Translation of documents starting on $ 40 USD.
   • Apostille Birth certificate document for Bride and Groom.
   • The names, ages, addresses, nationalities, occupations, passports and tourist cards of 4 witnesses.
   • Medical certificate and Blood test (blood type, RH factor, venereal disease, HIV). Tests must be performed here in Cancun within 15 days of the wedding date. Blood test $ 100 USD per person.
   • Original or notarized copy of former spouse’s death certificate (if applicable).
   • Final divorce Decrees (needs to have Apostille seal) or Death certificate, if applicable
   • Please note: Ceremony will not be performed unless all documents are in order. NO EXCEPTIONS.
   • The documents must be received from Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 11:00am, 3 full days prior the ceremony.

Policies

A 10% deposit is required to reserve wedding date and location. All wedding packages should be paid in full 30 days prior to wedding date.

Cancellations will result in the following penalty:
   • 90 - 61 days prior to wedding date: 30% penalty
   • 60 - 31 days prior to arrival date: 60% penalty
   • 30 - arrival date: 90% penalty
